In-Home Initial Behavior Assessment

Service Description

Your Initial Behavior Assessment is where I take the time to fully understand your dog, your home, and your goals. This **90–120 minute in-home session** allows me to observe your dog in their natural environment, talk through behavior history, discuss your current concerns, and identify what may be driving the behaviors you’re seeing. When appropriate, we may also begin working on foundational skills during the session. Together, we’ll break things down into clear, practical steps so you leave with guidance you can immediately start applying. Whether you’re working through behavior challenges, improving communication, or building everyday manners, this session is designed to give you clarity and a realistic path forward. This is not a one-size-fits-all approach. Every plan is tailored to your dog, your lifestyle, and your household. My goal is to help you better understand the “why” behind your dog’s behavior while giving you practical tools to create lasting, positive change. As an **IAABC-ADT (Accredited Dog Trainer) and Family Dog Mediator**, I take a science-based, relationship-focused approach using clear communication and positive reinforcement to support both dogs and their humans. Following your session, you’ll receive a **detailed email recap** outlining your personalized plan, key takeaways, homework, and next steps so you feel confident continuing the work between sessions. From there, I can recommend ongoing support options, including private training packages or Board & Train programs, depending on your goals and the level of support you’re looking for. **Pricing & Service Area:** Initial Behavior Assessments **start at $175 for clients within my local Tacoma service area.** I also serve clients throughout Pierce County, King County, Kitsap County, and surrounding areas. Additional travel fees may apply based on distance from Tacoma. Any applicable travel fee will be discussed and confirmed prior to booking. Virtual consultations are also available for select cases and clients outside my immediate service area.
