A Little Bit About Me
Hi, I’m Julia — the trainer behind Guiding Tails.
I use science-based, humane training methods rooted in relationship building, clear communication, and real-life skills. My goal is always to help dogs and their people understand one another so they can build lasting success together.
Before launching Guiding Tails, I spent years fostering and working hands-on with animals who needed extra support — from energetic puppies and seniors to medically fragile pets, neonatal kittens, and behaviorally complex dogs. That work shaped my training philosophy: every animal deserves patience, compassion, and a chance to thrive in the right environment.
I’m proud to partner with The Rosewood Café, where we support Tacoma Humane Society through adoption events, fundraising, and community outreach. As a newer member of the Tacoma community, I’m passionate about giving back, uplifting rescue work, and helping pets stay in loving homes or find the right ones.
Animals speak — sometimes we just need to learn how to listen.
I’m here to help you strengthen your bond, build communication, and guide your dog toward confident, happy behavior — with empathy and evidence leading the way.
